Chinese National Day is celebrated on October 1st every year to commemorate the founding of the Peoples Republic of China. On that day lots of large scale activities are held nationally. People use this time to take annual holidays and the seven day holiday is called Golden Week
Golden Week is from the 1st to 7th October and lots of Chinese people take vacations around China which makes traveling and booking hotels in China very difficult.
